WEAVING LIGHT AND MEMORY: Plant Cyanotypes
WHEN: Saturday, April 27th | 12PM – 6PM
WHERE: PHOTOVILLE, The Annenberg Space for Photography, Los Angeles
In this family activity we will explore what plants have to teach us about migration, borders and our diverse identities utilizing a cyanotype photographic process. We will use cuttings of native and non-native plants of the West Coast to creatively engage in this conversation. Participants will learn the basics of the cyanotype process, the history and usage of these plants and then apply their understanding to create an image reflective of their own family histories and legacies on to a 6 inch photosensitive fabric.
